Where the subscription sits

One framework. Two ways to activate it.

You choose based on the pipeline you are running.

One-off engagement

FACT-Finder Consultation

€297 · 30 minutes

Best for a specific prospective client you are screening right now. Pathway analysis, case review, Decision Tree walkthrough, written follow-up memo. Fee credits any later engagement.

The two paths are not mutually exclusive. A subscription gives your team a working relationship and named counsel on a rhythm; the FACT-Finder Consultation gives a specific prospective client a scoped, written analysis. Substantive case work always routes through a FACT-Finder or a full representation engagement, at the discounted rate your subscription tier provides.

The situation

The gap most agencies live in.

You have a good relationship with your German intended parents. You handle the medical, the surrogate, the contract, the coordination — all of it, well. And every so often, a case surfaces something on the German-legal side: a recognition question, a Standesamt quirk, a client asking whether their configuration is defensible. You need a real answer, from someone who actually knows the doctrine and is currently practicing it.

The alternatives most agencies use are structurally wrong for the problem. Google is unreliable and dated. Sending a client to a random German family-law attorney costs the client three weeks and produces an analysis you cannot verify. Waiting until you have a full case to engage counsel means the German-side work is bolted on after the fact — which is when it fails.

What you actually need is a working relationship with German counsel — access on a rhythm, priority when things are time-sensitive, and specialist expertise in the doctrine that governs your cases. That is what this subscription is.

Scope

Clarity on what the subscription is for.

Access, education, and pipeline routing — separate from substantive case work.

What every subscription includes

  • Direct access to Attorney Pecher for pathway analysis and process guidance
  • Priority scheduling on any referred client consultation
  • Ongoing access to updated component templates — Decision Tree, Screening Protocol, Contract Rider, Playbook, German IP Intake Checklist
  • Quarterly BGH doctrine briefings — recorded, ~22 minutes, current as of each quarter
  • Marketing designation as "German counsel of record" for your agency
  • Meaningful discounts on the FACT-Finder Consultation and full representation engagements
  • A working relationship — someone your team knows by name when a German case surfaces

What subscriptions don't cover

  • Substantive legal advice on any specific active client of your agency
  • Written work product — legal opinions, memoranda, contract drafting or review, letters
  • Court appearances, filings, or advocacy in any jurisdiction
  • Representation of any client in any matter
  • Response times faster than the tier-specific window disclosed above

These items require their own scope. That's what the FACT-Finder Consultation and full representation engagements are for — and your subscription includes discounted rates on both. This structural separation isn't restriction; it's the reason substantive case work gets the attention and rigor it needs when your client's child's parentage is on the line.

Who this is for

Three kinds of agency subscribe to this.

01

Established cross-border agencies

Agencies with an active German pipeline who currently route German-legal questions through a mix of ad-hoc referrals and Google. Subscription gives your team a single named counsel, consistent doctrine, and a client-facing designation that shows prospective German intended parents you have the German-legal side handled.

02

IVF clinics with German patient volume

Fertility clinics whose patients travel abroad for surrogacy and return to Germany needing recognition. Subscription gives your intake team the framework and template access to counsel patients on the German-legal implications before they commit to a program — and the referral pathway when they need substantive representation.

03

Agencies entering the German market

Agencies planning to open German intake and wanting the legal-side infrastructure in place before the first German prospect walks in. Subscription gives you the templates, the doctrine access, and the named-counsel positioning to start with defensible German-legal infrastructure from day one instead of learning on live cases.

FAQ

Questions we've been asked.

Is this a retainer? Am I your client?
No. The subscription is a productized access relationship between your agency and the firm — it does not create an attorney-client relationship, and it does not include representation of any of your clients. When one of your clients needs representation, that's a separate engagement (FACT-Finder Consultation or full representation), and the attorney-client relationship then runs between the firm and your client, protected by attorney-client privilege on that engagement.
What happens if my usage exceeds the tier's attorney-time cap?
Time not used in a month doesn't roll over — that's how the tiers stay predictable for both of us. If you consistently need more attorney-time than your tier provides, the natural next step is the tier above yours. We'll flag over-utilization patterns in the first-month check-in email and again quarterly. Upgrade is a one-click adjustment; downgrade the same, at the next billing cycle.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Month-to-month subscriptions cancel with 30 days' written notice. Annual subscriptions cancel with 30 days' notice as well, with pro-rated refund of the unused portion. Any client matters in progress at cancellation continue under the separate engagement covering those matters.
Do you handle Colombia? South Africa? U.S. cases?
Yes to all three. The subscription framework is jurisdiction-agnostic on the German side — the recognition proceeding under § 108 FamFG operates the same way regardless of country of birth, though the documentary architecture varies. Component templates cover the operational variances for South Africa, Colombia, the U.S., and Mexico. If your pipeline includes another jurisdiction, we can discuss whether the framework extends.
What if I want to refer a client during a subscription screening call?
Encouraged — the screening call is exactly the right place to walk a prospective client through the Decision Tree. If the case belongs in a FACT-Finder Consultation for deeper analysis, we schedule that at your subscription-discounted rate. If it goes to full representation, your subscription discount applies to the retainer. The firm does not pay referral commissions or finder's fees to agencies for these introductions — the value of your subscription passes through to the intended parent as the subscription-discounted client rate.
Does the subscription include the €497 webinar?
If you subscribed after attending the webinar, the €497 you paid for the webinar is credited toward your first month of any tier — Named Counsel (€397), Active Clients (€997), or Counsel of Record (€2,497). If you subscribed without attending, you have complimentary access to the webinar recording as part of your subscription portal.
Is this subject to ethics rules on legal-services subscriptions?
Yes. The structure has been designed to comply with the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct (in particular MRPC 1.5 on reasonable fees, MRPC 5.4 on fee arrangements with non-lawyers, and MRPC 7.2(b) on payments for recommending a lawyer's services) and with the German BRAO / BORA / RVG framework (in particular § 49b Abs. 3 BRAO, which prohibits any payment or non-cash advantage for the referral of engagements, whether to lawyers or third parties). The subscription is a scoped access product, not a fee-splitting arrangement, and the firm does not pay or accept referral commissions or finder's fees of any kind. Written subscription terms disclose all boundaries at signup.
Can I try it before committing?
Book a 15-minute exploratory call — no charge, no commitment. We'll walk through your current German pipeline, whether a subscription fits, and if so, which tier is right. If a subscription isn't the right shape for your agency, we'll say so and route you to the FACT-Finder Consultation instead.
